Eight questionnaires covering lifestyles, personal preferences, and existing interiors are aimed at painting a comprehensive picture of your needs and tastes.

I start with a meeting at your house where you will show your home and talk about what you would like to accomplish. I will listen, observe, take notes and photos. Next, you will fill out eight questionnaires (at your leisure time) that will help you communicate your decorating preferences, functionality of your home, family, long-term plans, concerns about environmental health and accessibility, and financial considerations.

Master
Plan

A narrative analysis of the questionnaires’ answers and the recommendations for planning and executing your project will pave the road to your beautiful home.

The Master Plan is a report that includes a comprehensive narrative analysis of the answers in the questionnaires and the recommendations based on this analysis. The recommendations will cover topics ranging from brands selection to financial considerations. Rather than asking a client to name a budget number, the report will provide an approximate price range for achieving the objectives. The Master Plan will provide an invaluable information for planning and executing your project.

Prior to moving forward, we will identify a project scope, its budget, and a time frame. A contract will be signed.

We will have one or two meetings to talk about your esthetics in more details. I will bring design magazines or photos of interiors and will ask you questions about them. One more questionnaire on colors will be completed during this meeting.

Floor planning, color and lighting schemes development will be done parallelly.

Implementation

This is an exciting stage of the projects. You will appreciate all the planning that led to pinpointing the right items. During this process, I will be in frequent contact with you, and you may participate to the extent you wish. Usually, I select three to five options for you to choose from. Small samples will be brought to your house for viewing in the surroundings and light where items will be placed. Whenever possible, I will take you to a showroom to see an actual item. I can also arrange for you to visit a showroom in another city, if you are traveling, so you could see an actual piece. I especially recommend trying all seating. Mood/color boards can be made at clients’ request but are not required. The presentation boards are made with actual samples of materials. They are not digital documents, so you can feel the materials and see their actual colors.

Purchased furnishings will be delivered to client’s home as the items arrive. All efforts will be made to consolidate deliveries. Furniture will be delivered by a white-glove delivery service.

For projects that do not require ordering designer furnishings, retail purchases will be handled by client with my guidance, as necessary.

Projects that require contractors/subcontractors will be discussed individually.

House
staging

A proper preparation of a house for sale can result in a shorter selling time at a higher price. I will work with your real estate agent, if you have one, to maximize your home potential using existing furnishings. If remodeling is required, I will propose a design with a strict budget to assure a profit on a house sale. In general, remodeling for sale is not worth the effort or the money, unless the house is in a highly desirable area with high appreciation of real estate.

DIY Video
Consultation

This service is geared to DIY decorators. Do you have a design question, space planning dilemma or are you looking for a specific item? A trial-and-error method is one way, or you can just schedule a short consultation to get help when you need it, saving yourself tons of time and avoiding possible mistakes.

Here is an example of the situations that can benefit from this service. Imagine you are on the fifth trial can of paint and still cannot nail down the color you want. In a one-hour consultation I will teach you an almost error-free method of selecting paint colors. Many other questions about the design process, furnishings and challenging situations can be discussed in a video consultation. The consultations are informative, I will not design for your project, but I will equip you with knowledge, so you can do it. This service will also save you time versus searching for answers online.

Second Opinion

If you find yourself having doubts in the middle of a project, having difficulties communicating with your designer or contractor, a second opinion may help you address your worries. The aim of this consultation is not abandoning your current contractor or designer but to give you an additional assurance that the project is on the right track, help you better communicate your preferences and needs, and advocate for your interests.
